Last night Gamaw and Big Daddy invited us over for a supurb Birthday dinner. She certainly pulled out all the stops, starting with her nice dinnerware and table setting. She served hors d-oerves of crab balls and jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and cheese and wrapped in bacon. Then we had a unique vegetable soup and salad with everything course. The main meal consisted of Cornish Game hen stuffed with cornbread dressing and gravy with roasted potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes, vegetable medley... and her famous homemade rolls. And for dessert... super moist chocolate mayonnaise cake topped with chocolate icing, whipped cream, and raspberries! And all of this served with wine, iced tea, and coffee with our cake. I'm telling you, we couldn't move for two hours! There was just so much food! But it was ohhhh soooo gooood! Thanks Rick for getting another year older than me! And thank you very much to Gamaw for all the hard work she put into making this meal very special for Rick!

Going, Going, GONE!

So Rick has been growing his glorious beard for a while now. I didn't hate it but I definitely prefer him with a goatee. Saturday night he decided he had had enough of it so he shaved it all off. But we did have fun with it! We were laughing so hard! My favorite look was the mega wart1 HAHA!

Gun owner or Victim?

So I shot my first gun this past weekend. Gloc 19. It was really scary, even though I had a personal trainer teach me all the rules. He was impressed that I could load the magazine on the first try and after seeing me shoot, he said he couldn't believe I've never picked up a gun before because I was apparently really good. Oh yeah, and he also said 'I guarantee you are a better aim than your husband' Hehe! I had to throw that in there! Rick was really impressed too and had me keep my target paper to show Dad. I showed Mom the paper and she said 'I'd be afraid of you if I were a criminal.' As much as I hated it, (and I really hated it - to the point of tears and almost walking away) I realize it's a necessity for my life right now. So I will continue to shoot Rick's gun until he buys me one of my own and, of course, get my license.

Better to be a gun owner than a victim.

Also, Rani and I (and hopefully Mom and Ashley) are going to sign up for martial arts self defense classes next week. Rani has started walking home from school and that is something I have been putting off for years. No more putting things off for me! I won't always have a tomorrow.

In other news, Zoe has a pupper birthday pawty on Saturday. She is quite the socialite. Also, I think Rani is spending the weekend with us. Maybe we will go to the movies.
