Lunch at the Tea Room

Aunt Kitty was in town this week. She went with me to my genealogy class on Monday. She stayed with Mom (because the men were away) and Amelie and I visited often. Yesterday some of us ladies met at the Silver Sycamore Tea Room in Pasadena for a wonderful lunch and chat. The ladies include Gamaw, Kitty, Mom, Debbie, Ashley, me and the lovely Amelie. It was a lot of fun!

Weber Family Reunion!

I finally got to meet some more of Rick's family! Since I've known him, I've only met his mother and sister and their spouses and Rick's adorable nieces, Taylor and Skylar. Oh, and Rick's half sister, Dina, who has some children that I've met. they all live in California. Also, I've met his Mom's brother's daughter who was visiting from Canada. Anyway, I was so excited that some of his relatives from Arkansas were coming here for a visit. They were all soooo nice and told some really great stories! As you know, I have taken an interest in genealogy. I have been wanting to learn as much as possible about Rick's ancestors and his aunt's were very helpful. They stayed at Rick's sister's house, Susan, so we went over there both Saturday and Sunday. Rick's mom, Janet, came over too. Saturday night we went to one of my favorite restaurants, The Taste of Texas, courtesy of Jerome. Thank you Jerome! Then on Sunday we visited around the pool and Jerome b-b-q'ed while Susan prepared all the fixin's. Yumm-O! Thanks to the Johnsons for hosting a wonderful weekend and thanks to Aunt Ann, Aunt Dorothy, Aunt Patsy, Uncle Orvell, and cousin Sherry for traveling so far to spend time with us!

(I will upload Janet's pictures as soon as I get them. She took better pics)

Uncle Paul Update

A few days ago, Uncle Paul went into the hospital in Lakeworth. He had a high blood pressure reading and complained of chest pains. His heart doctor also noticed fluid around his heart. They kept him for two days but he was released today. I know his chest pain is gone and blood pressure is back to normal but I do not know if the fluid is gone around his heart. His heart doctor has his office across the street from Columbia hospital, where he was taken, which happens to be the hospital that he co-founded several years ago. Dad made sure all of the doctors and nurses knew that he was one of the original founders of that hospital and he consequently received excellent care. Many of the doctors and nurses even stopped by his room to thank him! I am just so relieved that he is out now and doing very well.

We spent this Independence Day at my Mom and Dad's house. We had a beautiful blue-eyed baby in red-white-and blue attire, flags, cousins, a Dalmatian, swimming, beer, fireworks, hamburgers, and sausage on a stick... how much more American can you get! Also, I can't forget my Zoe in a patriotic scarf, even though she's a Sibe. We all had a fantastic time!
