Happy Easter from the Webers!

I know, I know... It's been way too long since I've posted anything. I've just been so busy! Between the girls and the new house, and getting the condo ready to sell, and oh yeah I started a new business! And if that wasn't enough Rick and I started doing volunteer work with an organization that we feel strongly about. There just aren't enough hours in the day! But anyway, here are the pictures of our first Easter in our new home. Amelie loved it! It was her first time to dye eggs and go on an Easter egg hunt. Kendalyn... well she sure is cute! lol She's happy just to see someone smile at her so she had a great time too, I guess. I still haven't mastered the family picture on holidays. Mom says we should do it as soon as I dress the girls (before they get their clothes dirty) but I always forget until it's too late. Oh well... photoshop!
Kid update: Amelie is a l'il pistol! She contradicts EVERYTHING I say! If I say "It's too big" she shoots back with "No, it's not too big." Grr. Kendalyn is starting to crawl! My baby is growing up toooo fast! She's SUPER sweet ALL of the time! Never fusses.

Christmas 2011

Well, we had another amazing Christmas Holiday! Mom, Dad, Ashley, Maverick, Gwen, and Rani went to Disney World the week before Christmas and they all had a blast. Jealous. Janet and Bruce had us over for fancy tapas on Friday night. That was really fun. Then we spent Christmas Eve at Mom and Dad's. Jason cooked the most amazing chili. EVER. Seriously, so good. We all opened gifts and had a blast. Every year Mom and Dad get us all a toy or game to compete with. This year it was a shooting competition with a play revolver and fake cans that you have to hit. Well, I just knew I was going to win because I'm actually really good at shooting. We all got 6 shots with no practice shots and the goal was to see how many cans we could knock down with six shots. I hit 6 cans in 6 shots. Perfect, right?! Then it was Rick's turn... he missed the 1st shot and I did my victory dance. But then he hit 2 cans with 1 shot... twice! Ug! Good game, pad-na! Christmas morning with the girls was fun. I guess it will be our last Christmas spent at the condo :( Anyway, then we went back over to Mom and Dad's for Christmas dinner, which YOURS TRULY cooked! I was a little nervous because the ultimate food critic was there... Gamaw! But, she gave me a raving review about my moist turkey so all was well!

Looking forward to what this next year brings! Enjoy the pics...

Thanksgiving 2011

In keeping with tradition, Karen and Rick hosted Thanksgiving this year at their beautiful home. We had so much food! The atmosphere was very laid back this year because there weren't as many as we usually have. I made a coconut pie with a crust made of crushed ginger snap cookies. I think it turned out awesome! I also made corn, rolls, and cranberry chutney with rum. Yumm! On Thanksgiving night, Rick and I always go to his office to view the Christmas Tree lighting festival which is right in front of his office building. This year was no exception. We were at eye level with the fireworks and Amelie's face lit up when she saw them. It was pretty amazing!

Camping Trip 2011

This weekend we all met at Huntsville State Park for some camping fun. The kids always say they want to go camping so Mom and Dad finally took them. Mom, Dad, Rani, and Isabella got there on Friday and set up camp. Rick and I brought Amelie and Zoe Saturday afternoon and Jason and Ashley brought their kids and Jason's cousin Michael on Saturday night. Of course, camping with Mom is like staying in a 5 star hotel! Dad and I agree, we will never camp without her! She thought of everything. The pictures will tell it all... I was apprehensive about going camping being 6 months pregnant and always hot but they rented an RV and it was awesome! Cold during the day and freezing at night! Jason and Michael slept in a tent and Dad stayed on a cot in the sheltered kitchen. Rick took the girls swimming several times and they loved it. Today they are going horseback riding and canoeing. Fun, fun, fun!
Oh, and check out the head on that spider!!! CREEPY!

Father's Day 2011

We celebrated our fathers this year at Mom and Dad's house. In usual summertime fun, the kids swam in the pool. Mom prepared food on her massive grill while Dad and I made food the ol' fashioned way - in our dutch ovens. He made one peach and one cherry cobbler (both were delicious and gone within minutes!) I made a chicken and rice dish. Brandon and Candice were there as well as Ashley! She finally got her schedule changed to include Sunday's off. Jason and his parents were there too. Ohh, the stories that were told that night!!! Mom and Dad enjoyed all five (and a half) of their grandkids. I have to tell you how well the three little ones play together. Amelie lights up when she sees Maverick and Gwendolynn! She just HAS to go and touch them! It's so cute. And Maverick is really really good with her, protecting her from things. I guess he doesn't feel the need to compete with Amelie like he does with his sister. Everyone had a great evening! Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there!

Rani Gets Baptized

For a while now Rani has been going to a Baptist church in Deer Park with one of her friends. She goes on Sundays and on Wednesdays and really loves her new family there. Recently, she made the decision to get baptized by the minister of that church. WE COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD OF HER!!! She is growing up so fast and making food decisions that will shape her adulthood. I love you, Rani!
