Uncle Paul knocks our socks off!

After spending a few weeks in Corpus Christi with the other Bauer's, Uncle Paul insisted that Dad buy a Wii because the C.C. Bauer's enjoyed it so much. So Dad bought the game station but we could never get Uncle Paul to actually play it. Finally, Rick showed him how to do it and I will have you know that he beat the socks off all of us in bowling!!! Here are some pictures...

Rani's birthday

I also found these pictures of when Rani stayed with us during the weekend after her birthday. She and I did some major shopping at the Galleria and at Charming Charlie's on Harwin. Then Rick took us out for dinner at the Taste of Texas! That place is AWESOME! The salad bar is my favorite but Rani and Rick had steak which was really good too. She looked at me and giggled when the waiter put 3 spoons next to the delicious dessert and said 'your parents will want some'. hehe!

Evacuees from Hurricane Ike...

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, Rick and I stayed 2 days at his sister Susan's house along with his mother. Then we migrated to my parent's house... with our animals, of course. Despite Mom's best efforts to keep Zoe off her sofa, my dog found ultimate comfort laying right next to her as she slept! Hehe! I want to say a big THANK YOU to Susan and Jerome and also to my parents for keeping us refugees well fed and showered while our power was out.

Bear Creek Dog Park

In early September Rick and I took Zoe to Bear Creek Dog Park with my niece, Rani. We just got our internet back so these pictures are a few weeks old but I thought they were worth posting because I have never seen Zoe get dirty... till that day! She found some other huskies playing in a mud pond and decided to see what all the fuss was about! She even got up to her forearms in the (cleaner) water. Amazing!

Hurricane Ike

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we all survived the storm with minimal damage. Ashley and Jason had a tree fall on their new house which caused some leaks in the roof but other than that none of us have power yet. Mom and Dad have a generator which they are using to the fullest. Rick and I are at his sister's house along with his mom, Janet. No clue yet as to when the power will be back on but the news is talking about 2-4 weeks at the latest. SCARY! But at least we are all well. Keep in touch if you evacuated.

Isabella starts Kindergarden

Isabella started Kindergarten last week in Utah! We just got pictures from Cindi!!!

Jason's new job!

Jason just got a new job in Deer Park!!!! Not many details yet but that's ok. I am just sooo happy! They are finally moving back to Deer Park! Yippie!

Bauer Smith Birthday Reunion

There are so many Bauer and Smith birthdays at the end of August that we try to have a birthday/reunion every year at Uncle Glen and Aunt Harriet's house. This year was no exception. There was all kinds of great food and swimming, and beer, oh and dogs everywhere! From the birthday cakes to the karaoke, a great time was had by all!
