Endeavor Fly-by!

We just watched the space shuttle Endeavor fly right by our office window several times! Of course, I went to the restroom at the exact moment the shuttle passed by so close you could almost see people inside. I missed it but I did get some ok shots and video... You can see it piggy-backing onto a plane. Our building is next to USA Space Alliance and everyone was standing out in the freezing cold weather looking up and waiting for something so we googled to see what was supposed to happen today. That's how we found out. So while they were all outside, we waiting in the comfort of our warm office staring out the windows from the second floor. hehe.

our Dallas trip

About a month ago, Rick and I went to Dallas for one of his good friends' annual party. This year we stayed in a beautiful hotel and we had time to see the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Art Museum. (I had been wanting to see it ever since the Smith's went!) I thought it was fantastic! Some of the artifacts were so powerful that they actually brought me to tears. Too bad my camera ran out of batteries... but I did managed to get a few shots of us outside the museum.

I am trying to clean up my camera chips because this weekend Rick and I are going to Fredericksburg to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! (revert to my first blog for details of the proposal which was also in Fredericksburg)

Our L'il Snowstorm!

It snowed last night!!! Ok, it was more of a light dusting and thicker in some areas than others. The Galleria area did not get much but there was a lot in Clear Lake where I work. Still, it was fun to drive through. I'm sure kids everywhere were outside playing and giggling. (The first picture is of my office building and Rick caught one of me while Zoe is doin' her business on the nightly walk.)

Happy Holidays!!!

Jingle Jam 2008

On Sunday, Debbie, Olivia, Rani, and myself went to Jingle Jam 2008 to see David Archuleta, Colbie Caliet, Gavin Degraw, and Rhianna and Chris Brown. Nick Lechay was also there. We had a great time! In my humble opinion, Gavin was the best but Rhianna was good too. I did my best teenager impersonation... take a look at the pics of us.

getting ready for Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving was spent decorating for Christmas... and eating left-overs. Here are some pics of my lovely 4' trees! I've learned that decorating 3 small trees is still easier than decorating 1 big tree, and an added bonus is that more trees allows for multiple themes! In one corner is the man's tree - fishing teddy bears (which I hand-made) and in the other corner is the girlie pink, cream, and green Victorian theme (I bought all new ornaments for it this year). And, of course, in the kitchen is my new gingerbread and candy tree. Loves it! I also made the wreath on the door from left-over wedding supplies and I bought stocking holders this year to hold the stockings I made. Sh-sh-sh-sh'es Crafty!

What a whirlwind this week has been

Whoa! I have been sooooo busy since last weekend. I put one rent house ad in the Greensheet and one on craigslist and I have gotten so much response. Needless to say, I rented the house out... but, wow, was it a lot of work. And everyone I talk to has a different opinion about the process of renting. I got so many phone calls during the work week that I could hardly concentrate at work. I might resort back to hiring a Realtor next year. But then again, I know it gets easier every time. Aside from that, Gamaw and I hosted Rani's mother's baby shower. Lawana is having a baby girl in January, Alice Leora (sp) Soape. The party went really well. Great food, family, and conversation. Also, Rick and I have been toying with the idea of investing in another rental house. We met a Realtor to see a house that we turned down so the search continues. We are not in a hurry though. Things have also been weird at work too. I can't elaborate on that but trust me... crazy. Aside from all of that, a handful of us saved the life of a beautiful white male husky from eminent death on Saturday. My friend, Cindy, rescued him from puppy prison where he was on death row. Then after the shower I picked him up and took him to his half-way house (Dad's back yard) where he stayed for a few days until his foster mom could pick him up and take him to the vet. He is a beautiful boy (just look at his entrancing dual bi-eyes) but it was apparent that he had not had human contact before. He did love attention though. I hope he lands in the arms of a very loving and patient family who will teach him all the joys of life.
