They're here! They're here! My Canada pictures...
Prince Edward Island, the smallest of Canada’s provinces and just 140 miles long, has been called the ‘gentle island’. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Island is known for the vivid colors of its gently rolling landscape. PEI is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs and sand dunes. Many people who visit PEI find themselves so touched by the experience that they return again and again, such as Gamaw and Big Daddy who have now spent their 11th consecutive summer there.
Tourists(like myself) can buy a pale red PEI Dirt Shirt that’s dyed with the island’s red soil and sold with a packet of dirt. As the shirts’ makers say, “There are no white socks, shirts, cars or dogs. The red dirt stains it all. Of course the food is great, especially when hand prepared by our number one tour guide, Gamaw! But save some room in your belly for ice cream, the Island’s favorite past time, which lingers around every corner. But whatever you do during the day, save enough energy to attend ceilidhs every night and Leon Gallant’s Tuesday evening Island song sessions at Stanley Bridge community hall. I just love his ‘island music’!
"The Island", as locals call it, is the home of the extroverted Anne Shirley from Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic Anne of Green Gables first published in 1908. The book’s 100th anniversary is being celebrated all over the island. How easy it is to imagine the community of this well-loved novel—the best of Prince Edward Island hasn’t changed since the story was written.
I hope you enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this charming province as much as I did...

My smart kitty!
I have been training my dog, Zoe, to do commands since I got her. So when we got the cat, Tiggers, I thought why not train him too... He now almost knows as many commands as Zoe! Come, stay, sit, speak, up (although that one hurts my hand) ... and we are still practicing 'lay'. Oh, and he also walks on a leash in his lime green jump suit... hehe (My animals hate me...)

Isabella's farewell party #2
I also found the newest going away party for Isabella. She is back in Utah eagerly awaiting the snow... We all met at the restaurant for dinner and then went to Gamaw's house for some cheesecake and to open gifts. I miss her already!

Janet's birthday... a little late
I was transferring my pictures to the computer in order to free up my camera chip for Canada and found some pictures that I forgot to post...
These were from my mother-in-law's birthday get together. They include Janet, Rick, Rick's sister Susan, and the girls Taylor and Skylar. I didn't get any of Jerome or myself but we were there too!

Tropical Storm Edourd
So the tropical storm was very uneventful for us. Rain and medium winds but we mostly slept right through it or watched tv. Look at my l'il couch potatoes! And Zoe's favorite sleeping position is snuggling next to the wall in the entry. Weird.

This past weekend...
We finally got our TV stand in the mail. Put it together on Friday night and we both love it! Now I want the whole set of furniture to go along with it! (Disregard the ugly tile flooring...that is our next big project)
Then on Saturday we went shopping for granite counters and backsplash material but did not find anything we could agree on... and so the search continues. I did find some fabulous dining room chairs but have made an incentive pact with myself not to buy a new dining room set until the kitchen is completed.
That night we went on an all night bike ride / skate with a group of Rick's friends. It was fun but exhausting. Luckily Rick's friend, Gary, who is a bike cop was with us and taught me a lot about my new bike and how to ride correctly.
Sunday... we crashed... all day.

Gwen and Mave video
Here is a cute video of Maverick trying to calm Gwen by patting her on the head and saying 'Don't cry baby sister, don't cry'
Too cute...
